The regions of Gujarat stand on geographic scene and on their weather. There many regions in Gujarat state such as Kutch region, Saurashtra region, North region, South region and central region. All regions structure the state Gujarat. Gujarat is identified as “The Land of the Legends” and is bounded by Pakistan and Rajasthan in the north east, Madhya Pradesh in the east and Maharashtra and the union territories of Diu, Daman and Nagar Haveli in the south. Kutch Region

- Language/Dialect : The languages spoken predominantly in Kutch is Kutchi and to lesser extent Sindhi and Gujarati. Kutchi is a dialect of Sindhi.
- Kutch is a main district of Gujarat state in western India. It means somewhat that infrequently becomes wet and dry. A great part of this quarter is known as Rann of Kutch that sinks in water during showery season and becomes arid in other seasons. The district is also renowned for Banni grasslands with their recurring marshy wetlands. Kutch District is bordered by the Gulf of Kutch and the Arabian Sea in south and west, while northern and eastern parts are delimited by the immense and small Rann of Kutch. The district has impenetrable population and the languages spoken principally in Kutch are Kutchi to lesser amount of Sindhi and Gujarati.
Saurashtra Region
- Geographic location : It is part of Gujarat state, bounded on the north by the great wetland of the Rann of Kutch, on the northwest by the Gulf of Kutch, on the west and south by the Arabian Sea, and on the southeast and east by the Gulf of Cambay.
- Climate : dry & soil is black with high moisture.
- Culture & heritage : Kathiawar produced the finest poets, freedom fighters, business icons and the people of Kathaiwar’s bravery, hospitality (to the extent that the host would give his life for the comfort of the guest).
- Language/Dialect : Kathiaawadi which has large set of different words from Gujarati. Common difference from Gujarati is most time “aa” is replaced with “e” while speaking.
- Saurashtra is a province placed on the Arabian Sea shore of Gujarat state. The Saurastra or Kathiwar region encompasses the south western part of Gujarat state. The districts incorporated in this region are Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Amreli, Jamnagar, Surendra nagar and a few portions of Ahmedabad District. The weather of this region is desiccated and the soil is found black soil with lofty moisture. The idiom used in this region is Kathiaawadi.
South Region of Gujarat
- Geographic location : located in south part of Gujarat
- Climate : semi dry to low humid. Soil is quite fertile due to riven & irrigation projects.
- Culture & heritage : Similar to central Gujarat
- Language/Dialect : So called south Gujarati dialect, which has common difference from Gujarati is that “ne” is replaced “ni” apart from others
- South Gujarat is also acknowledged as Deccan Gujarat or Dakshin Gujarat. This area is one of the wettest sections of India and is separated into two parts: Western Part and Eastern Part. The western part is originated as a coastal and is branded as Kantha Vistar whereas the eastern division is recognized as Dungar Vistar. The Districts in this area are Surat district, Valsad district, Dang district, Navsari district and the recently shaped Tapi district. The main cities other than Surat are Vyara, Navsari, Valsad, Vapi, Bardoli, Chikhli, Bilimora and Songadh. This province inhabits semi arid to low damp weather along with productive soil.
Central Region of Gujarat
- Geographic location : located in center part of Gujarat
- Climate : similar to north Gujarat but farming land is quite less though its fertile wherever it is.
- Culture & heritage : same like north Gujarat.
- Language/Dialect : language considered to be base of Gujarati, still has been impacted by other regions.
- Central Gujarat is province in middle of Gujarat which geologically situated in heart of Gujarat. All districts allocate similar dialect, culture and heritage. The loam of this region is fewer productive. Central Gujarat essentially enjoys arid weather with humid atmosphere.

North Region of Gujarat

- Culture & heritage : so called native Gujarati & have simple clothing which is quite common in India.
- Language/Dialect : similar to Gujarati language with little exceptions.
- The North division of Gujarat is identified as North Gujarat. It includes Banaskantha, Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Sabarkantha and Patan districts. North Gujarat is a leading city in the Dairy commerce.
